If you were not out and are considering re-buying then it would be advisable to re-buy if you were just unlucky and got knocked out and you feel that you still stand a chance of winning.

The amount you should re-buy depends with the situation you are in, if you are in the lead at that point then you should buy just a few chips, but if you were knocked out of the tournament it would be wise to re-buy many chips as you can.
